AEW star Wardlow has reportedly suffered a significant injury immediately following his long-awaited return to the company.
According to a report from Fightful Select, sources within AEW fear that Wardlow has sustained a torn pectoral muscle, an injury that would sideline him from in-ring competition for a considerable amount of time.
The timing is particularly unfortunate, as Wardlow had just come back from a year-long absence. It is suggested the injury may have occurred during his return angle, though this is not confirmed.
Despite being cleared from prior injuries for several months, his return was postponed as he filmed two seasons of the "American Gladiators" reboot.
While he may be unable to wrestle, there is a possibility he could remain on television in an enforcer-type role. Many of his fellow talent are said to be disappointed by the news after his lengthy recovery and wait to return to AEW programming.
